Thank you!

Evelyn was a goof...she was taking pictures too with the little camera and she kept telling me what she was going to name the pictures...it was so funny. When she wasn't doing that, she was saying "take a picture of me over here, Mom"......"take of picture of me on this rock, Mom"

She's not a ham at all.

Another thing I noticed there...you are not allowed to remove leaves from the park. PERIOD. There are signs everywhere that say this. I would guess it is to keep the eco-system in tact. They do have a lot of visitors there, and somehow, I can just picture people coming and filling up bags with fall leaves for their craft projects, etc...

Beckey the pictures were gorgeous! The strictly fall shots would make a great set of note cards or something for a church fundraiser or something. One year I made note cards with different Apple things on them. Put maybe 10 or 12 in a baggie with envelopes and they sold really fast.

When I look at those fall shots, there is a different quality about the color from what I see here. More subdued or something. But very very pretty. Emotes a "calmness" or something. Thanks for sharing them Beckey.

Thank you Sharon. I was thinking the same thing along the lines of the note-card idea. They would make good gifts too. I'm even thinking of getting a poster size print of one framed for our living room above the tv. There is a big'ole bare space there.

You know, the last time we drove out there to see the trees was in 2005. I was looking at those photos the other night and it's just amazing how much the kids have changed in only 3 years.

I think they really had a good time today, and that's always a good thing.

That's because there aren't any trees anywhere else in Texas that get colors like that!

Trees around here go from green to brown.

Thanks for sharing.

We went to the cemetery today to see both of the kids grandpas and pay respects. I used this as a lesson to teach the kids about Veterans and such. Ben thought veterans were animal drs...so I had to explain the difference, and I told them about how their dad is a veteran and their grandpas were as well.

Ben got a bloody nose at the cemetery and we made the visit a little shorter than I would have liked, but that's okay. We got to both gravesites.

Wow, Beckey, what a beautiful cemetery. I felt awe just looking at the pictures. It make me think of Arlington Cemetery the way the stones are all placed.

Thanks for sharing them.

Cemeteries are important, though most people don't appreciate them.

My sisters father-in-law passed away today. He was a neat man, used to be the chief of police in the town he lived in, so I imagine it will be a huge funeral service. Please keep his family in your prayers.

As y'all can see by my avatar (and also noted in my photblog)...when I couldn't sleep tonight, I decided to try to photograph the moon. I'm so tickled with the results, I think I should be able to sleep okay now.

Beckey, do you think when Miss Evelyn CherryLimeade grows up she'll be a model or a photographer?

Funny you should ask that, because I just put the pictures she took at Lost Maples on the computer and they are pretty good. I will pray for photographer, but she is a beautiful girl, I just want her to be happy.

Here is a link to a story on my sisters father in law.

We have a cold front coming through right now. It is super windy outside and it's dropped 12º in the past hour. Supposed to freeze tomorrow night/Sunday morning. Yay! I'll get to wear a sweater to church!!!

I love wearing sweaters.

By the way, we have something else in common: it's dropped 12* where you're at . . . and tomorrow morning, it's supposed to be 12* here in Jackson.

LOL!

Gotta get to bed early tonight! I have to be up and ready to go at 7:30 am. The drive to the funeral is a little over an hour and we have to get there early if we want to have somewhere to park.

I just turned off the ac. It's now 65º outside, and the wind chimes are making all kinds of clangity clang chiming noises.

The services went well, here is a link to the article about it. And here are the pics I took, I didn't take many. It was a beautiful (cold, for us mid 40's) day and I got all choked up and started crying when they did the "last call" on the police radios.

The paper ran a photo as well.

I didn't go to church today. I almost never miss church. Let's just say I got up and after a while I had to send Ronnie out for an emergency purchase of Immodium. I'm feeling a little better now and will try to make it for choir practice (we need the practice). The kids were pretty upset with me that they missed church.

(((((Beckey))))) Hope you're feeling better by the time I have posted this.
Thank you for sharing the pictures from the funeral. You know, of all of them, This One touched me the most. That look on Ben is just so filled with a little boy's compassionate heart.

Not sure why my head is where it seems to be today, but I got all teary when one of the young college age guys in our church stood up as a mentor representative of our congregation for the little baby boy who was being baptized today and at the end of the baptizing, the mom handed the baby to Peter. Well, watching Peter cradle that baby boy and have the look of awe, love, excitement...I don't know but I just found it incredibly touching. Of course I have watched Peter grow up and I have also had him in SS and his mom and grandma have aways been special. That may have played into it too.

Found out later that that was the first time, other than his brother when he was small, that Peter has held a baby. Oh, and he told his mom I cried. I think in the back room somewhere there at church, the kids have a chart and keep track of who did what to make me at least tear up. *sigh*. I LOVE it!!

I guess they know you too well, huh?

I'm worn out, and all I did was go to choir practice.

Think I'll be a little lazy today.

I was just thinking that she already knows how and where to pose.
