But after Jennifer House, a black woman in Los Angeles, perused one too many profiles only to find the guys had checked off every box except African American, she changed her strategy. "Now I look at that section first so as not to get my hopes up," she says.

Racial preferences - or, as some call them, biases - are easier to observe on these sites than in offline settings. Behind computer screens and cutely coded user names, people clearly communicate things about race that few would ever say aloud in a bar.

In Indiana, the retirement of Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh gives the Republicans a stronger chance of seizing a seat that was on their radar only recently.

With the popular Bayh off the ballot, CQ Politics changed the rating of the Indiana Senate race to “Leans Republican” Tuesday, superseding the previous rating of "Leans Democratic."

Bayh, 54, a former two-term Indiana governor who has never lost an election, announced Monday he won’t seek a third six-year Senate term.

There is “too much partisanship and not enough progress” in Congress, he said at a news conference in Indianapolis.

If they had succeeded against the Catholics, they surely would have come after the Southern Baptist Convention, the National Association of Evangelicals, and The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod.

If Mr. Obama is serious about civility he needs to withdraw Dawn Johnsen’s nomination. If she is confirmed, we will see a radical anti-Catholic, pro-abortion zealot influencing policy thoughout the Justice Department—but also policy throughout the entire federal government.

What we are witnessing right now is an anti-Christian programmatic pogrom. What is a “pogrom” it’s the word that describes anti-Jewish raids by Cossacks and others in czarist Russia, but a programmatic pogrom best describes what is happening right now. It would be interesting to create a poll with these two photos and have people guess what's happening. I suspect that most would never assume anything close to the real story. It appears to be a joyous 001homecoming, a reuniting of mother and son. The truth is not so heart warming.

The lady in the picture is the mother of an American who was ambushed in Fallujah, Iraq. Her son was murdered. His body was dragged around in the streets of the city, then burned and hung from the upper trusses of a bridge. The murderers gathered to celebrate and have their photos taken with the trophy.

The young sailor in the picture is one of the Navy SEALs who later captured the leader of the band of terrorist butchers and brought him to justice.

Already, friends and family have witnessed Dan’s unbelievable strength as he begins what will surely be a long and difficult recovery. Despite the challenges ahead, Dan remains positive and exudes his kindness and true appreciation for friends and family, and for life.

Although known to some as Danny boy or Danger Dan, to others as Cnoss, C-Nasty, Disco Dan, or Batta Bing, and to some just plain Dan, we all know and love Dan Cnossen as a courageous and determined leader, a strong and selfless man, and a dedicated and unconditional friend. Though he can be described as introverted and a bit stoic, Dan’s friends prefer to use the words soft spoken and humble instead. A truly genuine and loyal person, Dan is also known to have a way with words, creating laughter in the wake of his humor, and amazement from his friends and family with his curiosity and zest for life.

His life’s motto, “Life is all about extremes” plays out everyday in both his professional and personal life, and he is excited by and drawn to activities that challenge him both physically and mentally. From the moment he learned about the US Navy SEAL program, he was hooked by the pure challenge, and immediately dedicated himself to preparing for it. In his free time Dan took on many adrenaline-filled adventures: climbing Mount Machu Picchu, Peru; hiking Patagonia’s Torres del Paine, Chile; mountaineering through Samaria Gorge, Crete; free-climbing Mount Whitney, CA; skiing the back country of Mount Baker, WA; and swimming the Mediterranean and Dead Seas. Dan’s sense of adventure has also taken him to Argentina, Uruguay, Columbia, Egypt, Jordan, Guatemala, Turkey, Mexico, and Spain.

Among his local adventures, Dan loves to rock climb and run. Those who know him from the Naval Academy share memories of sneaking off the Navy yard to join Dan on these (and other) extreme excursions. Dan amazed friends when he would sign up for a 50-mile race or ultra-marathon just weeks before a race. Taking on these unbelievably difficult tasks only further exemplifies Dan’s immense mental and physical strength, and true passion for challenge, adventure, and reaching life’s absolute limits. Some people train their entire lives to accomplish what Dan would decide to do on a whim.

Dan was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas on a small farm owned by his grandfather, and spent his childhood working on the farm, reading, running, boxing and playing soccer. Upon arriving at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland in 1998, Dan had never seen the ocean, had never learned how to swim, and could barely make it across the pool. Dan only saw this as yet another challenge, and because he was fully dedicated to succeeding, he sought out friends to help him learn how to swim. Dan would often skip lunch and head to the pool, and immediately joined the Navy Triathlon Team to further strengthen his swimming abilities. But being a member of the team wasn’t enough. By his senior year, Dan was elected a captain, and lead the team to a national championship. Friends watched as Dan woke up at 5am every morning to run, and then return to the gym or pool for a second and even third workout everyday. Each day Dan focused tenaciously on his ultimate goal of becoming a US Navy SEAL.

Upon graduating from the US Naval Academy in 2002, Dan headed to San Diego, CA with several classmates, and immediately began fulfilling his orders to Basic Underwater Demolition and SEAL school (BUDs Class 242). He successfully completed some of the most mentally and physically rigorous training in the United States military, and succeeded in fulfilling his life-long goal. Dan was pinned as a US Navy SEAL, and reported to his SEAL Team, stationed in Coronado, CA.

As a junior officer, he served two deployments in Iraq, one to the Philippines, and supported JSOC with a deployment to Afghanistan.

In a recent article in the Weekly Standard, Jeff Bergner wrote about the American Narrative – how it has been written by the Left; adopted by our culture, and accepted by Democrats and Republicans alike.

Bergner says that the Narrative goes something like this: From its founding, America has been working towards the ideal of equality for all. This goal is an inevitable certainty, although it must be aided now and again by the use of will, and power. The best means of ensuring equality for all, is through the auspices of strong government entitlement programs.

Those who oppose the Narrative are evil, backward, selfish rubes who place their own self-interest before the welfare of others. The Narrative also says that American exceptionalism is a misguided, parochial elitism that prevents world peace and encourages a divisive American arrogance.

The Left wrote the Narrative in order to supplant America's real Narrative, and it has been disseminated via Progressive journalists, academics, and politicians for over a century. It has been repeated so pervasively, and insistently, that it is now taken as a matter of course by most people. It is, however, a lie.

(CNSNews.com) – Republicans railed against the Obama administration last month when the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) predicted a $6 trillion dollar deficit over the next decade. But an analysis by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB), a taxpayer watchdog group, of President Obama’s proposed budget baseline for fiscal year 2011 points out it actually could spur more like $8.5 trillion in deficits.

Under the president’s budget proposal submitted to Congress, deficits would shrink slowly over much of the next decade, and then would start to grow again.

The deficit peaks at $1.56 trillion in FY 2010, constituting 10.6 percent of GDP); then is projected to drop to $1.27 trillion -- or 8.3 percent of GDP -- in FY 2011; $828 billion (5.1 percent of GDP) in FY 2012 and $727 billion (or 4.2 percent of GDP) in FY 2013. In FY 2016, the deficit begins to grow again in real terms, and as a share of GDP in FY 2019. By FY 2020, the deficit would top $1 trillion.

After he signed a law last week authorizing the U.S. Treasury to borrow an additional $1.9 trillion, President Barack Obama delivered a characteristically sanctimonious speech. It was about his deep commitment to frugality.

“After a decade of profligacy, the American people are tired of politicians who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk when it comes to fiscal responsibility,” he said. “It’s easy to get up in front of the cameras and rant against exploding deficits. What’s hard is actually getting deficits under control. But that’s what we must do. Like families across the country, we have to take responsibility for every dollar we spend.”

To put Obama’s Olympian hypocrisy in perspective, one need only examine the federal budget tables posted on the White House website by Obama’s own Office of Management and Budget.

They reveal these startling facts: When calculated by the average annual percentage of the Gross Domestic Product that he will spend during his presidency, Obama is on track to become the biggest-spending president since 1930, the earliest year reported on the OMB’s historical chart of spending as a percentage of GDP. When calculated by the average annual percentage of GDP he will borrow during his presidency, Obama is on track to become the greatest debter president since Franklin Roosevelt.

Obama will outspend and out-borrow the admittedly profligate George W. Bush, a man Obama and his lieutenants routinely malign for fiscal recklessness and who, when in office, was often hailed even by his allies as a Big Government Republican. Obama will even outspend—but not quite out-borrow—his fellow welfare-state liberal FDR, who had to contend with both the Depression and World War II.

A new grassroots-conservative organization will kick off an ambitious campaign Thursday morning called "One Million Speak in One Week" -- a plan to gather 1 million signatures urging Republican leaders not to concede an inch to President Obama during the upcoming summit on healthcare reform.

The new organization, American Grassroots Coalition, bills itself as "citizen activists working together to save America."

Its co-founders, Amy Kremer and Jennifer Hulsey, are two prominent leaders in the national tea-party movement. Kremer, a founding member of Tea Party Patriots, joined the Tea Party Express organization last year and serves as its director of grassroots and coalitions. Hulsey has been a national town hall coordinator for Tea Party Patriots.

"Our objective is to get 1 million signatures on this petition by next week, when the president holds his healthcare summit at the Blair House with both Republican and Democratic leadership," Kremer tells Newsmax in an exclusive interview. Back in early 2009, while the MSM noted the tax evasion problems of several of Obama’s appointees, Congressman Charlie Rangel (D, NY) sat nearby, grinning like the Cheshire Cat from Wonderland. The tax transgressions of Timmy Geithner, Tommy Daschle, Nancy Killefer, et al are equivalent to shoplifting a candy bar from a convenience store when compared to Charlie’s multiple, long-term, bank heists. Cholly’s been at it for four decades!

Last October, the New York Post reviewed his long history of funny money management.

So it would go for Charlie Rangel over the next four decades — a pattern of tax evasion, special treatment and enrichment that seemed to increase with his power and prestige in Congress. Whether it’s living in rent-stabilized apartments while making a hefty salary, or failing to disclose hundreds of thousands of dollars in earnings and assets, his actions betray a consistent, defiant sense of entitlement. And when he is caught, the powerful Democrat blames a right-wing conspiracy.

CPAC hasn’t even officially started and already its making news. Mediaite has learned that leading center-right web site Hot Air has been acquired by Salem Communications for an undisclosed sum. Sources close to the deal claim that Michelle Malkin, the conservative pundit and sole owner of Hot Air, has been in talks with Salem for some time, but the announcement was timed to coincide with the Conservative Political Action Conference, which opens tomorrow in Washington D.C.

Hot Air is one of the biggest, most influential conservative sites on the Web and was launched on April 24, 2006, with Michelle Malkin as founder/CEO (though she remains editorially focused on her own blog MichelleMalkin.com and her own writing and television appearances.) Hot Air is managed on a day-to-day basis by editors Ed Morrissey and the mysterious AllahPundit, who are reported to be part of the deal in the sale of to Salem, and absolutely essential to the core value of Hot Air. We are told that, from a user’s perspective, Hot Air will remain the same despite the change in ownership.

Last Fall, Mediaite cited Hot Air as one the Top 25 most influential blogs on the Internet.

A meeting of former Clintonistas and senior Democrat political operatives to coordinate a push-back to the burgeoning tea party movement. Consider it a Democrat party relief effort.

For the second time this month, CNSNews.com asked White House spokesman Robert Gibbs on Wednesday if the president knew in advance that terror-suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab would be read his rights to remain silent and to consult with an attorney.

First, the piece began:

Attorney General Eric Holder says nine Obama appointees in the Justice Department have represented or advocated for terrorist detainees before joining the Justice Department. But he does not reveal any names beyond the two officials whose work has already been publicly reported. And all the lawyers, according to Holder, are eligible to work on general detainee matters, even if there are specific parts of some cases they cannot be involved in.

Holder's admission comes in the form of an answer to a question posed last November by Republican Sen. Charles Grassley. Noting that one Obama appointee, Principal Deputy Solicitor General Neal Katyal, formerly represented Osama bin Laden's driver, and another appointee, Jennifer Daskal, previously advocated for detainees at Human Rights Watch, Grassley asked Holder to give the Senate Judiciary Committee "the names of political appointees in your department who represent detainees or who work for organizations advocating on their behalf…the cases or projects that these appointees work with respect to detainee prior to joining the Justice Department…and the cases or projects relating to detainees that have worked on since joining the Justice Department."

In his response, Holder has given Grassley almost nothing. He says nine Obama political appointees at the Justice Department have advocated on behalf of detainees, but did not identify any of the nine other than the two, Katyal and Daskal, whose names Grassley already knew. "To the best of our knowledge," Holder writes,

during their employment prior to joining the government, only five of the lawyers who serve as political appointees in those components represented detainees, and four others either contributed to amicus briefs in detainee-related cases or were otherwise involved in advocacy on behalf of detainees.

When Haig passed away Saturday at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md., after a short illness, his career of public and private service, beginning as an aide to MacArthur, had spanned more than six decades. In all, his professional life cut a broad swath, covering fully one-quarter of the nation’s history.

A Time magazine profile of Haig in 1984 best distilled the man’s unique place in American history: “Few American public figures have had such tempestuous careers. Alexander M. Haig, Jr. has spent much of his life in war zones — bureaucratic and geopolitical.”

No clearer difference can be seen in how the Old Media and its left-wing compatriots treat mass killers, terrorists and nutjobs than the way Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab and Joe Stack have been portrayed by the Old Media and the left. Abdulmutallab, the jihadi Christmas Bomber, was treated as an aberration unconnected with any larger group — despite that he trained with al Qaeda — and Joe Stack, who flew a plane into an IRS building in Austin, Texas, has been held up as the epitome of the “teabaggers” and the “anti-government right” despite that not a single tie to those folks has been yet discovered.

Immediately after Abdulmutallab tried to blow himself and a plane full of passengers into martyrdom on Christmas Day 2009, President Obama’s administration declared this guy an “isolated extremist” and said he had no connection to our Islamofascist enemies. Obama was helped along in this by many Old Media news sources.

On Dec. 26, for instance, CBS reported that Abdulmutallab was a loner: “As of now, he appears to be a lone actor with no conspirators. A report the following day said of the jihadist bomber, ‘We’re not aware of anybody else,’ one official told Orr. No further arrests are imminent.”

The Associated Press also played on the isolated extremist line by portraying Abdulmutallab on Dec. 29 as a “lonely, depressed” man.

These reports preceded several days of discussions about the dangers of “lone wolf” terrorists, evildoers that were not connected to any known group or terrorist figure. This characterization downplayed the obvious connections that these sorts of attackers have to larger terror networks and shifted them into a realm of but dangerous oddballs that aren’t part of any larger group thereby making them seem less threatening. It is as if they are mere accidental terrorists....

Hey when we stood outside last year in the rain---protesting in NYC we told them so; the result loosing viewers, cred & now workers-sad.

Mediaite has learned a major round of buyouts are expected to be offered at ABC News tomorrow, numbered in the “hundreds.”

This comes as major changes are happening at the network in key anchor roles, with one job (anchor of This Week) still unfilled.

We hear from two sources buyouts are expected to be offered to employees both on and off-air.

Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) today asked the Obama administration to investigate what he called “the greatest scientific scandal of our generation” — the actions of climate scientists revealed by the Climategate files, and the subsequent admissions by the editors of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Fourth Assessment Report (AR4).

Senator Inhofe also called for former Vice President Al Gore to be called back to the Senate to testify.

“In [Gore's] science fiction movie, every assertion has been rebutted,” Inhofe said. He believes Vice President Gore should defend himself and his movie before Congress.

In an alarming finding, the Rasmussen Report found only 21% of Americans believe the Democrat-controlled U.S. government has the consent of the governed. Amazingly, this view is held by only 32% of Democrats.

Spurred by the unjust Wall Street Bailout, this crisis of consent is exacerbated by an Obama Administration and its Democratic Congress’ insistence on ramming through a government-run health care scheme in defiance of the sovereign American people’s emphatic opposition.

Now, having already pre-determined its outcome, the Obama Administration will hold a health care summit. The summit’s goal is to persuade the public that the Republican minority is “forcing” the Democrats’ heavy-handed tactics to foist this abominable bill upon Americans.

The truth is otherwise: it is the public and centrist Democrats who have to date stopped this radical proposal, which will raise the cost and lower the quality of Americans’ health care.

Cheney had mild heart attack: statement



WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Former Vice President Dick Cheney suffered a mild heart attack, his fifth in 32 years, but his office said on Tuesday he felt good and will leave the hospital in a day or two.

Cheney, 69, who was vice president under President George W. Bush, was hospitalized on Monday after suffering chest pains.

"Lab testing revealed evidence of a mild heart attack," Cheney's office said. "He underwent a stress test and a heart catheterization. He is feeling good and is expected to be discharged in the next day or two."

Christian musical artist Michael W. Smith says the smell of death was in the air when he and his wife visited Haiti, but in spite of the suffering, he found it inspiring to see earthquake relief being provided by Evangelist Franklin Graham's ministry Samaritan's Purse.

Smith wrote the song "Come Together Now" shortly after last month's quake, and he immediately knew the song was for Haiti. "Four days after the earthquake, I sat down and wrote the song, thinking it was going to be for my record, and I knew right when I wrote the song...that it was for Haiti," he explains. "I just knew it in my gut."

The songwriter also reports that many Christian charities are helping earthquake victims.

Documents obtained by The Daily Caller confirm the White House is seriously considering adopting a series of proposals that would favor unionized companies bidding on federal contracts. The documents acknowledge the proposals are likely to increase the cost of government contracting and the size of the bureaucracy.

The proposals, collectively known as “High Road Contracting Policy,” were first reported earlier this month. The basic elements of the policy would give preference to companies bidding on federal contracts that pay their hourly workers a “living wage” and provide health insurance, employer-funded pension plans and paid sick days.

Following the report Republicans slammed the proposal, with Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma referring to it as “backdoor card check.” Other critics, led by Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, worry the new rules would increase the cost of government contracting by as much as 20 percent, or more than $100 billion annually, while further slowing the procurement process.

Activists on both the left and the right are gearing up for major protests and demonstrations, all part of an ongoing tug-of-war to influence the outcome of the summit.

Members of Congress stepping out of their limousines will be greeted by sign-waving protesters on both sides of the aisle.

One group of healthcare reform proponents, Melanie's March, walked the 135 miles from Philadelphia to Washington, D.C., to take part in the debate.

The conservative grass-roots movement, led by tea party organizations, will be a major presence at Blair House as well.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- It took almost the entire length of the debate at the White House health care summit for the issue of abortion to come up and, when it did, pro-life Rep. John Boehner told President Barack Obama that Americans don't want abortion funding in the health care bill Congress is considering.

Boehner is the top Republican in the House who has been one of the leaders in the pressing the abortion case against the health care bill.

He had hoped Obama would invite Rep. Bart Stupak, the leading pro-life Democrat whose amendment stopped abortion funding in the House version of the bill, that will likely be scrapped in favor of the pro-abortion Senate version.

Boehner told Obama the House spoke and, on a lopsided bipartisan vote in approving the Stupak amendment, said it doesn't want abortion funding in the health care bill.

"We have had this debate in the House. It was a very serious debate. But in the House, the House spoke. The House upheld the language we have had in law for 30 years that there will be no taxpayer funding of abortions," he said....

(CNSNews.com) – At a hearing of the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said she was not consulted before the decision was made to try 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and other terror suspects in U.S. federal court in New York City.

She also said she has not taken part in discussions since that decision was made, including any that may have taken place to discuss whether the trials should be moved to another location.

“Were you consulted about homeland security risks or costs of providing security for the 9/11 terrorist in New York City before the attorney general made that decision?” Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), chairman of the committee, asked Napolitano.

“Mr. Chairman, we were not consulted before but we have been part of a process to give cost estimates of what the security costs would be after the decision,” said Napolitano, who heads the department that was created after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 to protect the United States from future harm.

PC outcome

On November 5, Major Nidal Hasan, an Army Psychiatrist, walked into the Solider Readiness Center in Fort Hood, Texas and shot 43 people. Thirteen died. While he fired at them he shouted Allahu Akbar, like a stereotypical Muslim terrorist. The military should have known it was coming. He had given away all his worldly goods beforehand. He’d been in contact with radical Muslim extremeists for months including Anwar al-Awlaki, an Imam known as the “Bin Laden of the internet.”

Naturally, the first reaction from the authorities was to tell everyone not to leap to conclusions. And of course, for days afterward they were saying it wasn’t a terrorist incident. Who can forget President Obama’s reaction to the shooting, giving a shout out to someone with a smile on his face before dealing with the matter as if, “Oh yeah, there were some people shot in Texas.”


The government bent over backwards to try to make it out to be a lone nut incident and there was no mention of Islam in the Army’s initial 86-page report.

(CNSNews.com) – Service Employees International Union (SEIU) President Andy Stern said he was open to serving on President Barack Obama’s proposed deficit reduction commission, after it was reported that the White House was considering him for the post. He was on Capitol Hill on Tuesday advocating for additional deficit spending to stimulate job creation.

“I’d be honored, if I was asked,” Stern told CNSNews.com, “but I don’t know anything more than you’ve been able to read.”

Stern, who runs one of the largest unions in the nation, has come under scrutiny for being a close ally of the Obama White House.

The most recent effort has to do with union bosses working to increase their political power and financial standing by forcing unionization on workers at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). With the lack of an appointee to fill the role of TSA administrator after President Obama’s first choice, Erroll Southers withdrew his name, union leaders now believe they can and should bully and intimidate their way into a critical national security agency by demanding its officers be unionized.

The precedent Big Labor is setting by elbowing their way into control of a federal government agency charged with the safety and security of the American people speaks volumes about the priorities of the nation’s union “leaders”. It is clear that their motivation for further, increased unionization not only stems from their dire financial straits, but it supersedes all else. As unionization in the private sector continues to decline precipitously, labor bosses are turning to government jobs to help grow their ranks and fill their pockets at the expense of American taxpayers.

However, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops told CNSNews.com that anyone who had spoken to the bishops about the legislation should know that it does fund abortion and that the bishops oppose the bill.

At a press conference on Friday, Pelosi was asked whether Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.), who opposes President Obama’s health bill which mirrors the Senate bill, was wrong in stating that the legislation would allow tax dollars to fund abortion and whether this would be a problem for those trying to advance the bill.

Pelosi, a Catholic, said, “Let me say it this way, there’s three, three--I don’t want to say principles--but three standards that we are using as we go forward, and I talked to the Catholic bishops about this and people on all sides of the choice issue.

Facing mounting debt and a projected loss this year of $7 billion, U.S. Postmaster General John E. Potter said Tuesday morning that mail delivery must be cut from six days to five for the U.S. Postal Service to survive.

But critics say eliminating Saturday deliveries won’t be enough to cure what ails the USPS, and free-market advocates are renewing their calls to privatize the struggling government entity.

“Congress and President Obama should deregulate postal markets and privatize the USPS,” Chris Edwards, director of tax policy at the Cato Institute, writes in the American Spectator.

“Pro-market reforms are not in vogue these days, but Obama claims he doesn’t want to ‘get bottled up in ideology.’ For postal reform, that means injecting competition by allowing private options in the market.”

Now, comments from a late Friday press conference are surfacing where Pelosi exploits the Catholic bishops to justify her claim.

As LifeNews.com reported last week, Pelosi covered up the clear abortion funding and other pro-abortion problems found in the Senate legislation.

"The law of the land is there is no public funding of abortion and there is no public funding of abortion in these bills and I don't want our listeners or viewers to get the wrong impression from what you said," Pelosi asserted.

Following up on the health care summit comments, a transcript provided to LifeNews.com by the Family Research Council shows a reporter asked Pelosi on Friday whether she thought pro-life Democratic Rep. Bart Stupak was wrong in his assessment that the Senate bill funds abortions.

Get out the defibrillator quick: CNN is dying . What other conclusion can be drawn from the Nielsen ratings from February, which showed the once dominant news network finishing in fifth place for the first time ever- and now trailing CNBC and Headline News as well as its main competitors, FOX and MSNBC?

The numbers are, as you can imagine, pretty stark. Wolf Blitzer's show, The Situation Room, was down 44% in total viewers in February. Campbell Brown, Larry King, and Anderson Cooper all posted their lowest ratings ever in February among total viewers, declining 50%, 55%, and 59%, respectively.

The numbers are equally grim among the coveted 25-54 demographic. CNN's share of the market with this group during prime time declined from 21% last February to just 10% this year. Even worse, its market share among viewers 25-54 in day time - what's been seen as the network's bread and butter - declined nine percent in the last year to 14%.

I have had a problem w/ the TEA PARTY EXPRESS as recorded in the past, & have contacted them, & Williams --- & recommend no contributions to this group*** that has made us look stupid. (CNSNews.com) – About 160,000 people have signed a pair of petitions calling on top military commanders to drop the charges brought against three Navy SEALs over the alleged punching of a terrorist in Iraq.

The petitions will be sent to Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Maj. Gen. Charles T. Cleveland, commanding general of Special Operations Command Central, who ordered the court martial, and to Admiral Gary Roughead, chief of Naval Operations.

The petitions were circulated by the offices of Rep. Dan Burton (R-Ind.), which gained more than 40,000 signatures, and Human Events, the conservatives weekly that gained 118,000 names, said Tara Setmayer, spokeswoman for Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.).

There was a shooting just outside the Pentagon today, at a security checkpoint. Two cops were injured; breaking reports say the suspect, J. Patrick Bedell, has died.

The suspect, believed to be a U.S. citizen, walked up to a security checkpoint at the Pentagon in an apparent attempt to get inside the massively fortified Defense Department headquarters, at about 6:40 p.m. local time. “He just reached in his pocket, pulled out a gun and started shooting” at point-blank range, Keevill said. “He walked up very cool. He had no real emotion on his face.” The Pentagon officers returned fire with semiautomatic weapons.

And Internet research shows that the guy was a 9/11 Truther and an anti-Bush nut case.

In an attempt to thwart passage of President Obama’s health-care bill, an alliance of Tea Party groups plan to “take the town halls to Washington” during the next three weeks and encourage activists to travel to the capital and lobby the 60 or so Democrats who have yet to publicly announce their position on the bill.

“It is time for every Tea Party activist across the country to consider dropping everything he or she is doing and join us in the most important battle of our life time,” organizer Michael Patrick Leahy said. “We need your energy, commitment and efforts to make this succeed. We need you to consider coming to Washington during this three-week period, and if you can’t come to Washington, be part of this project in your local area.”

With Obama’s bill in flux as of recent weeks, the battle may come down to whether Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi can round up enough votes in the House.

The Nationwide Tea Party Coalition is organizing the event, which will last from March 10 to March 31 and will include activists meeting members of Congress in their offices.

March 5 (Bloomberg) -- New Jersey Transit proposed raising fares by a record 25 percent system-wide and reducing service to help close a $300 million budget deficit.

The changes would take effect May 1 and generate $140 million in revenue, NJ Transit said in a statement today. Executive Director James Weinstein has said the agency, the third-largest U.S. transit system, also will cut jobs and trim salaries to cope with declining ridership and less aid.

“We recognize that any increase is a burden for our customers, particularly during a recession,” Weinstein said in the statement. “However, we have worked to keep local bus fares below the regional average and preserved some important discounts for seniors and people with disabilities.”

Rasmussen concludes the findings underscore why 68 percent believe gaining control of the border is more important than legalizing illegal aliens. Only twenty-six percent say legalizing illegal aliens is more important. Rasmussen consistently found majority support for controlling the borders over the last several years.

There’s a new trend in skydiving called “Skyaking,” where people jump out of planes in a kayak. Or as Southwest would call it, a "connecting flight."

There’s a new vending machine in Japan that can wash, rinse, and blow-dry your dog in 30 minutes. They have the same exact thing in China, but it doubles as a snack machine.
